Updated: Nov 3

What was Juan Manuel Fangio's driving style?

It was a Smooth Oversteer driving style. This is why.

Juan Manuel Fangio, also known as El Maestro was one of the best F1 drivers in the 1950s. He was later than most into Formula 1, having only joined in his 30s. Fangio crafted his driving style around these cars, winning the World Drivers’ Championship five times. He was known to be precise and gentle with the car, only pushing it as hard as he needed to. Not to mention that he had incredible bravery and strength to endure the harshness of the 50s F1 cars. To handle these cars on the limit of grip, Fangio had to be precise with his inputs and avoid scrubbing the tyres.
